**There are no offers for any cats as of today's date. Almost four months later. Can anyone help? Does anyone (rescue or individual) have room for one home?
Maria is doing this alone, no rescue support. Any help is beyond appreciated. These kitties deserve it. Let's help get them out of the basement and into a forever home!

Help Desperately Needed (donations, placement homes)
These thirteen lovely souls were just let out into the street one day when their owner was evicted. There were originally 20 cats in the home. Four were hit by cars and tragically killed. Three were adopted. The TNR group that was called by a concerned neighbor to trap did so. Maria Castello, a concerned volunteer, offered to hold the 13 cats *temporarily* in her basement to avoid them being brought to the high kill shelter, NY Animal Care and Control. This was in October. Day in and day out, she has been caring for all thirteen all alone. She has financially been supporting them, feeding them, vetting them, ect. She has spayed all of the females and is now working on the males.
Maria needs help. She is caring for her own 6 cats, dog, feral colonies, elderly mother and doing TNR, amongst trying to work and function daily. She is completely overwhelmed and desperate for help. She has reached out on Facebook, email, crossposting, posting in vet offices, pet stores and has reached out to rescues. She does not have the luxury of a courtesy listing on Petfinder, ect, the resources of a rescue to assist in food/litter/vetting, or the exposure of adoption events
If anyone can donate towards the care of these animals to lessen the burden one woman is taking on alone, it is immensely appreciated.
If any rescue group reads this and is willing to help her, by taking even ONE cat in, please contact Maria. If a rescue is willing to do a courtesy listing, or donate supplies, or take her under their wing as a "foster" to allow her to take the animals to local adoption events, please let her know.
Lastly, a home for these animals who have endured so much already is what is most needed. Maria simply cannot go on caring for 13 animals with no support and took them in because she did not want them to go to a shelter and risk euthanasia after cruelly being tossed onto the street. Safe in a home one day, let loose and alone, scared, on the streets the next.
The kitties arrived starving, sick, dirty and emaciated. Maria has nursed them to help and socialized them. They are all sweet souls, each with their own distinct personalities and they deserve the stability and comfort of a loving home.
Please. This situation is urgent. Please help. The "Unlucky 13" and Maria thank you.
Much love and appreciation.
